Programs
While at the centre, your child will:
be Safe!
receive nutritious morning and afternoon snacks;
participate in the gym activities and the outdoor play area;
experience a wide variety of other activities offered such as organized sports, computers, crafts, baking, science;
find a friendly ear for how their day went, or supervision for homework;
try new things like learning volleyball basics, sewing or participating in our fashion show;
participate in a fun-filled Summer Program that includes numerous field trips.

Programs - Other Interesting Initiatives!
Youth Leaders for older group (ages 10 to 12)
Children perform tasks and receive points that can be redeemed for
prizes. They also attend a monthly workshop (eg. Health & Wellness,
Personal Hygiene, etc.) , which also gives them points. Junior Youth Leaders for younger groups (ages 5 to 11)
Character Counts
Teaching social responsibility. Once a week during summer, going out
into the community to lend a helping hand, i.e. Wpg. Harvest, clothing
donation, etc. Anger Expression Program
A six-week program (once a week) in sharing circle format, where kids
learn through discussions, videos & books, how to deal with their
anger and to problem solve. Cool Down Area
An isolated area offering children a place to cool down, reflect and/or write about their feelings/situation.
Physical Frenzy Days
Gym activities such as an obstacle course, relay race or jungle gym, for example.
Swimming Lessons
During summer vacation, two weeks are dedicated to taking the children
to swimming lessons at Sargent Park pool. The Centre covers most of the
cost of the lessons and the transportation. Homework Room
Open from 4:45 to 5:15 daily, children get a chance to get some of their homework done before going home.
